Ernest Sargent, of Fiasco Wines is a certified Sommelier living in Victoria, British
Columbia. Ernest has been interested in wine for over 35 years and
after three years of study received his Sommelier Diploma from the
International Sommelier Guild in November of 2006.
Being a Sommelier isn't just about wine - it's actually about all potable liquids (which include all spirits as well as beer and sake) and especially food and wine matching. Food and wine (or beer/sake) matching is a particular interest of Fiasco Wines and they have presented seminars in both Victoria and Nanaimo on food and wine matches - with samples of course!
Ernest has been cellaring and drinking quality wines for 30 years and understands which wines have the capability to improve by cellaring them. He is also an award winning home wine maker (National Competition Gold Medals for wine and beer) and has judged in many wine competitions.
